The Ministry of Transport and Communications has given significant support to public transport development projects for years. The Passenger Transport Information Programme HEILI (2001 to 2004) has co-ordinated co-operation especially between public transport development projects that utilise transport telematics, and has also been in charge of the transfer of data between different projects.

This final report is a compilation of the main findings and results of the HEILI programme. It outlines how passenger transport information systems have developed during the programme. The individual projects included in the programme are listed in the second half of the report. Some of the projects have been carried out outside the HEILI programme by certain actors in the field.

The final report was drawn up by Programme Co-ordinator Juhani Vehviläinen of Jussa Consulting, with the help of Sabina Lindström, Armi Vilkman and Seppo Öörni of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
